“No matter the disaster, let us help.”

You’ve faithfully paid your insurance premiums, and now you’ve suffered damage from a windstorm or hurricane, arson or fire, sinkhole, water, flood, hail, mold, smoke or lightning. You expect the insurance company to live up to their end of the bargain.

Instead, the insurance company gives you the runaround and tries every tactic in the book to deny paying your claim, delay paying your claim or pay less than the fair value of your claim. That’s when it’s time to get David Graham Insurance Law involved.

Fire Damage

David Graham Insurance Law represents clients whose legitimate fire damage claims have been delayed, undervalued or outright denied. To avoid paying claims, some insurance companies have even resorted to accusing policyholders of arson.

Claims that we have taken on include fire damage, smoke damage, water damage, lightning damage, vehicular fires, and unsafe appliances and products. If your insurance company is giving you the runaround, low-balling their estimate of your damages, or refusing to settle, it’s time to call the professionals at David Graham Insurance Law.

Water Damage

Not to be confused with flood damage, water damage is caused by rain entering your home because the integrity of the roof or siding has been compromised.

Damage from plumbing fixtures and pipes, slab leaks and faulty water heaters, air conditioners, dishwashers, ice makers and washing machines are also included in this category of covered losses.

Repairing and drying out the affected area are not the only issues.  You have to ensure that mold doesn’t result from the water damage.

To be safe, any compromised materials should be replaced.  You should not settle for spot replacement when you are entitled to complete replacement. In such cases, we can help you recover the entire amount of insurance coverage, as promised by your insurance policy contract.

Windstorm Damage

Storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes cause wind damage to millions of homes each year. To reduce the amount insurance companies pay out, they often underestimate the cost of repairs, may miscalculate deductibles, or challenge what is covered by your policy.

In some instances, the insurance company only wants to pay for a patch job when, in fact, a complete re-roofing job is required.  A compromised roof often means water has seeped in, which usually leads to mold contamination.

If you settle your claim for an amount that doesn’t compensate for this, you could be looking at thousands of dollars in repairs down the road. If you do not have mold coverage in your policy, obtain it now to cover future claims.

If you’ve been a victim of wind damage and your claim has been denied or low-balled by your insurance company, let David Graham Insurance Law handle your insurance coverage dispute. We’ll fight to protect your rights.

Hail Damage

Hail damage is a real threat in Florida, which is why people pay high premiums to protect their investments. So when an insurance company fails to live up to its promise by denying claims, you need an experienced law firm that will aggressively fight for your rights.

Hail can range from the size of a small stone or golf ball to as large as a grapefruit. Falling from thousands of feet, these ice balls are extremely destructive to homes and vehicles. Some damage is obvious, like shattered windows and skylights. Often, however, the damage shows up later.  For example, hail can strip a roof of its protective granules, greatly reducing its life.

Our clients come to us because insurance companies just want to patch the roof when its structural integrity is compromised, and it needs to be replaced entirely.  Or the insurance company depreciates the claim based on the age of the roof and withholds a portion of its replacement cost.

Another tactic is to delay payment until you’re so frustrated that, out of desperation, you accept whatever the insurance company offers or until they find a loophole they think they can use to deny your claim. There aren’t many excuses we haven’t heard from insurance companies. But no matter how big the insurance company, they don’t intimidate us.

Sinkhole Damage

Not all sinkholes are the house-swallowing kind you see on the news. Often, the second type of sinkhole is much more subtle, frequently confused with “settling.” Only an expert can determine the second type of sinkhole activity and the amount of damage.

When insurance companies acknowledge that there is sinkhole activity, they may want to offer a small settlement, enough to cover infusing a stabilizing agent under the foundation. This is a “cheap fix” and should be avoided. Don’t get shortchanged.  We’re experienced in these cases and can advise you of your options.

Mold Damage

Whenever you have water damage, there is a high risk that mold will follow. Damp walls, insulation, and carpet are ideal breeding grounds for mold spores. Untreated, mold can trigger severe health problems, such as respiratory illness, asthma, and allergies.

At David Graham Insurance Law, we’ve dealt with insurance companies that offer to pay for water damage, but then deny claims for mold damage. We not only fight for a settlement that covers these repairs, but also for any attorney fees and costs.
